SMSA extends its congratulations to Jean Todt for being elected President of the FIA for a four-year term by the FIA General Assembly at its annual meeting in Paris on 23 October 2009.

Following the election of the FIA President, the FIA General Assembly elected the members of the FIA World Council for Automobile Mobility & Tourism, and the world Motor Sport Council to serve for the next four years.

We would like to congratulate our President, Mr. Tan Teng Lip for being elected into the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC). The WMSC is a powerful body within the FIA which decides on rules and regulations, safety and development aspects for the FIA's various racing series, from Karting to Formula One. The Council comprises 26 members, including FIA President Jean Todt, as well as FOM President Bernie Ecclestone.
